VicRoads SmartPark

VicRoads SmartPark is an iPhone application designed to help you when parking in clearway and metered parking spots in Melbourne. The application allows you to:

• Set a clearway reminder for the clearway you are parked in.
• Set a parking-meter timer to remind you when it will expire.
• Set your location when you park, and help you find your way back to your car.

1. Setting a clearway reminder

• Click on the "Clearway Watch" button at the bottom of the application
• Touch the Clearway signs at the top of the screen to scroll and find the sign that is relevant to your carpark
  
  NB If there is not a clearway sign that matches the clearway where you are parking, use the "Parking Meter" to set a reminder
  
  
• Touch the Clearway sign that is relevant to your carpark to determine how long you can park for
• Click on the button "Set Alarm" to set a reminder when the Clearway is about to expire
• You will receive a reminder 15 minutes before the Clearway is due to expire
• You can cancel the alarm at any time by clicking "Cancel Alarm"

2. Setting a parking-meter

• Click on the "Parking Meter" button at the bottom of the screen
• Click on the "Set Timer" button
• Flick through the carousel to set the length of time until your parking meter expires in hours and minutes
• When you have selected the correct length of time, click the "Start Timer" button
• You will receive a reminder 15 minutes before the Clearway is due to expire
• You can cancel the alarm at any time by clicking "Cancel Timer"

3. Setting the location of your car

• Click on the "Car Finder" button at the bottom of the screen
• A map will display with a pin showing your current location
• Click "Set Location" to save this location of your car
• To get directions back to your car, click the "Get Directions" button
• You will be prompted to confirm that you wish to go to Google Maps to get directions to your car
• Click "Get Directions" a second time to go to Google Maps
• Google Maps will be pre-populated with the location of your car, and your current location, and will provide instructions on how to return to your vehicle
• You can remove the location from the application at any time by clicking the "Clear Location" button.
